Stop Worrying
Reiki can help the worriers out their feel a little more grounded. Wozny says that worry generally stems from overwhelmed egos and the “making up of imaginary futures.” When we live in the present, our mind focuses on what is real in the here and now. Once you find yourself immersed in the present moment, you will find that your functionality actually increases.
Stop Being Angry
Feeling anger is not necessarily a bad thing. The way in which we handle it is what really matters. When you find yourself experiencing a visceral reaction to something, examine the root of it. Instead of suppressing it, acknowledge it. Wozy suggests allowing the anger to surface and then disappear on its own without fear or judgment. Not doing this can result in unnecessarily lingering anger.
Be Humble
Our ego constantly chases validation. If you notice that you’re feeling good after compliments are or outside affirmation, try to put your ego aside for a moment. It might be hard, but taking a slight ego bow can promote self-love.
Honesty is Key
We often hide our true selves in order to fit into the mold and gain acceptance, but striving to be our most authentic selves can be incredibly rewarding. This practice can help strengthen self-belief and confidence.
Show Compassion
According to Wozny “compassion is the healing balm to judgment and anger,” This reiki principle is a reminder to cut ourselves and others some slack. This is the key to understanding different perspectives, and if you are unable, you can at least have the intention of trying to see different perspectives.
