Recently, some food scientists have discovered how to make a boiled egg go back to its original state.
A research carried out shows how an egg can be unboiled or returned to its original state within few minutes. More than this, this discovery provides a solution or added advantage to other day to day activities which include health researches and food production.
Eggs go through a process known as denaturation where they go from clear to white when they are boiled. As against other costly and time consuming techniques of recovering proteins, this new method provides a quicker method. This method will not just save time; it will also save a lot of money that is being spent on drug development and also not defy physics. A researcher also says that this technique can also make cancer treatment more affordable and quicker to get.
The first step is to boil the egg white for about 20minutes, at 90 degree C. (194°F), this is followed by the addition of a chemical called “urea”. The work of this chemical is to revert “lysozyme”, a major protein in the egg white. Urea breaks down the clustered protein and returns the solid material to liquid. The solution is then placed into a vortex fluid device which causes it to untangle and go back into its original state.
Arthur Weiss who happens to be the brain behind this admits that many industries including the agricultural industry could benefit from this technology. However, he is more concerned about finding an affordable cure to cancer. In his own words, he says cancer is more important to him because industries will begin to look at how many dollars and cents this will add to their profit. Weiss has a goal, which he pursues diligently and with hard work with his associates, to affect the lives of a billion people within the next ten years. Their new discovery can both detect cancer quicker and treat it faster too.
An unboiled egg is exactly like a raw egg, with its egg white dissolved and changed from white to its colorless nature. Also, it is as healthy as a normal raw egg.
