Tiger Babies and Their Chimpanzee Mom

These gorgeous white tiger babies were uprooted from their home after it was flooded in the middle of a huge storm, and unfortunately, this caused them to split up with their mom. But an animal caretaker with a huge heart and a spunky little chimpanzee named Anja decided to take them in. Anja believes that she has adopted the cubs, and she cares for them like they are her own children.

Anja the chimpanzee is incredibly sweet, and she absolutely adores looking out for her two new tiger children. Since Anja’s caretakers rescue all sorts of animals, this isn’t the first time she has stepped in to help out, but there is something special about her relationship with the big kitties.

This Deer Friendship

Tanja Askani, a wildlife photographer, spends her days looking for charming moments just like this. But she never imagined that she would stumble upon such an adorable animal bond. But this moment wasn’t just a one-time deal. Tanja has captured these animals together on multiple occasions – grazing, lazing around and nuzzling each other, as is the case in these photos.

Seeing these incredible photos is like staring at a real-life version of a Disney movie. All that’s missing is a princess standing behind them! Here’s to hoping Tanja isn’t planning on retiring anytime soon!

Bittersweet Joy

This unlikely animal pairing had a beautiful, love-filled friendship for nearly eight years of their lives, on the ground of their home at an Elephant sanctuary in Tennessee.  Tarra the elephant and Bella, the dog, were the best of friends, spending their days by each other’s sides after the dog happened to stumble in to the sanctuary. There was one year during this friendship when Bella needed to go through an intensive surgery, and Tarra waited for her friend, expressing anxiety about missing her.

But in the year of 2011, everything changed when Bella’s body was found following some type of wild animal attack. The caretakers noticed that Tarra had blood on her trunk and came to the conclusion that she had moved her late friend’s body to a safer area.

This Fox and His Hound Buddy

This dog, Tinni, literally stumbled into a friendship with his bestie, Sniffer, one day. Tinni was walking through the woods in his home in Norway with his owner, Torgeir Berge. Berge is actually a photographer himself and happened to take this very photo. Unfortunately for Sniffer the fox, Norway is riddled with fox fur trading. But because of his best friend’s new companion, Berge is actively working to take it down.

After Tinni and Sniffer met, they became the greatest pals, and Sniffer always comes to hang out with him when he and his master take their strolls through the woods. Berge found the entire thing so adorable that he films the furry friends doing the oh-so-cute things that they do together, like chasing each other through the trees. He also plans to release a book about the real-life fox and hound.

Best Buddies Hector and Manuka

Hector the house cat was in for quite a surprise, when his human mom Jane Croft decided to bring home a new and interesting addition to their family – Manuka, a micro pig. Manuka and Hector’s relationship started off wary and formed into a full-fledged sibling bond. This picture clearly displays the kind of childlike loving relationship that these two have. And while Manuka may sometimes get on Hector’s nerves, they absolutely love each other and get along incredibly well at most times. But Hector and Manuka aren’t the only two animals getting along in the Croft house.

The pig and cat also have five more micro pig brothers and sisters, as well as a dog friend. Croft says that the animals love spending time together, and always share their meals, nap time and playtime. And, although she says that it can be a bit overwhelming dealing with so many animals at once, it’s also totally worth it!

The Lion, the Tiger and the Bear

This trio of big beautiful friends were all rescued from an evil drug dealer who abused and neglected them in the most awful ways. Baloo the bear was taken into surgery during his rescue, to remove a harness that had grown into his skin and needed removed. The trauma that these three poor animals endured at the hands of this heartless human have bonded them together for life.

Luckily, these three pals are now living the wonderful lives they deserve at an animal sanctuary in Georgia. Leo the Lion, Khan the Tiger and Baloo are always by each other’s sides, living happily and healthily in their new, comfortable forever home at the Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary. The people who rescue animals and ensure their safety and happiness deserve all of the medals!

The Kitten and the Guardian Crow

The year is 1999, the setting – Massachussetts – your nam is Ann Collito, and you’re planting flowers in the backyard of your house that you share with your partner, Wall, when all of the sudden you set eyes upon this kitten’s face, staring up at you from behind a bush. That’s just what happened to Ann Collito when this stray kitten showed up out of the blue one day. The Collito’s didn’t see a collar, so they began to leave food out for the animal, and they named her Cassie. But these humans weren’t the only one’s watching out for her, as they noticed that this crow had appeared in the yard and brought worms to her when it thought she was hungry.

The crow, which the family named Moses, has even been seen on video pecking at the couple’s backdoor for his young kitten, which he started to do nearly every day. And every time, Cassie gladly runs to play with him, and they spend their time together all day in the yard.

Strength Through Unity

These two pals spin another tale of the type of bond that can be formed after a sad and traumatic experience. Meet Owen, the hippo. When Owen was only one year old, rescuers found him alongside of the Indian Ocean, totally dehydrated and alone. The lonely little hippo was sent to Mombasa, where he was placed in a sanctuary for wild animals. It was in this sanctuary that he met his new best friend, Mzee.

Mzee is a giant male tortoise, whose name means “old man” in Swahili. Staff members weren’t entirely sure why these two hit it off, but they suspected it may have had something to do with the fact that they had coloring that sort of looked alike, which may have made them feel more comfortable around each other. Mzee became protective of Owen, sort of acting like parent he seemed to need. Once Owen grew older, caretakers decided to place him with Cleo, a female hippopotamus who needed the company.

Best Friends for Life

If you’ve ever seen the show Animal Odd Couples on PBS, you may recognize this darling duo from their cameo on the show. Riley coyote and this handsome lion, Anthony, met when the animals were right around one month old. They were introduced at their home in Arizona, at the Wild Exotic Animal Sanctuary, and they became friends right off the bat.

These cute critters have become so indivisible that if they are unable to see each other, they experience anxiety from the separation. Because of this, when Anthony required surgery and needed to go visit an off-site doctor, the caretakers brought Riley along with him! These guys can always be seen together at the sanctuary, having a blast and hanging out.

This Monkey and Her Terriers

Meet Mubi. Mubi is a part of an endangered species of monkeys, known as drill monkeys. When Mubi was first born into this world, at her home in an Animal park close to Canterbury Kent, something unfortunate happened. The infant monkey’s mother wouldn’t take care of her, so Simon Jeffery, a zookeeper in the park, adopted her and brought her home with him.

Mubi spends her days hanging out with other monkeys in the park, but at night, Jeffery brings her back to his house, where his two young Jack Russel terriers Daisy and Lane live. Mubi and the puppies have been getting along great and love to play together each night.

Cats and Dogs

Canines and felines have a notorious reputation for always being at each other’s throats, and not being able to get along. But, these two are here to prove that anything is possible. Unfortunately, this is a bittersweet tale about a friendship that blossomed from heartache and trauma. This mama cat had delivered a kitten that didn’t make it, and the puppy was orphaned after his mother was struck with a vehicle.

Even though these furry friends went through a lot before they met, they would find happiness again in each other. In fact, since the cat wanted to be a mother and the puppy needed a mother, they adjusted into those roles for each other. The cat started to take care of the puppy, which includes nursing him. Never say never, as this story is proof that stereotypes are not always right!

Cheetahs and Chew Bones

Manti, this golden lab, has led quite an interesting life. Manti grew up in Tampa, at Busch Gardens, alongside of Kasi, this gorgeous cheetah. Dogs are often used with cheetahs because they keep them calm and help them to adjust to their life around humans. So, Manti and Kasi were raised together and basically grew up as siblings. But unfortunately, like so often happens with humans, as Kasi matured, he had less of an interest in hanging out with his “brother,” and more of an interest in mingling with females.

However, even though Kasi grew up and devoted some of his energy to nabbing himself a cheetah girlfriend, he and Manti still have a strong bond. Kasi and Manti tour around together, visiting events and taking pictures with their fans and supporters. Their loving relationship is evident in both pictures!

The Turtle and the Cow

This cow, who is hilariously named Simon Cow-ell, found himself in the need of a rescue situation in 2016, when he unfortunately had to have a part of his back leg amputated. After his initial recovery, Simon Cow-ell was transferred to Thailand’s WFFT Wildlife Center. At first, the cow was placed in a large field at the rescue center, in hopes that he would mingle with a couple of other cows.

However, Simon ended up making an unlikely friend in Leonardo, the giant tortoise. The two animals became so close that caretakers decided it would be best to give them their very own living space, which they still inhabit to this day. The friends can be seen strolling around together and even laying together to sleep.

The Cat and Mouse

These little furry pals are the real-life version of Tom and Jerry. Pumpkin the cat lives her best life as the resident feline in an animal shelter in Tennessee, so she sees her fair share of rescues. Batman the rat probably didn’t have too many cat friends before he was rescued, but he and Pumpkin immediately hit it off and became fast friends. Pumpkin is a total sweetheart, who is known for being kind-hearted and helping newcomers out, so it’s no surprise that she took a liking to Batman.

Batman was brought into the shelter by animal control, and the staff just knew that he and Pumpkin would get along. In fact, one day when they were cleaning out Batman’s cage, Pumpkin decided to stroll on in and introduce herself, and that’s how they became pals! It’s so good to know that cats and mice can get along.

This Lucky Duck and his Lab

Fred the lab is not only this duck, Dennis’, friend, but also sort of his fairy god doggo. When Dennis was a baby, his mom was scarfed down by a fox. The baby duck was strolling around aimlessly, lost and terrified in the woods when Fred and his owner, Jeremy, came upon him. Fred took an instant liking to the little duckling and Jeremy felt compelled to help the animal. So, Dennis made his way to his new home with his dog and human family members.

This isn’t the first time that Jeremy has rescued an animal, either. Fred has also been the companion to a baby deer that was taken in not long before they met Dennis. The dog and duck duo love to hang out, and Dennis likes to climb Fred and use him as a means of transportation. Onward, Doggo!

An Extremely Unlikely Friendship

This story is one that comes about from a tragic tale of the dog-eat-dog world, or in this case, lion-eat-antelope world. This lioness, in pursuit of her lunch one day, ended up killing this small antelope’s mom. After making her move and eating the other animal, the female lion strolled over to a shady area in the bushes to take a nap, when the young antelope emerged from behind the shrubs.

Incredibly, rather than leaving the antelope to fend for itself without its mother, this lioness opted to adopt him. Not only did the lioness take the antelope under her wing, to care for it in the absence of its mother, but it ensured his status as a member of her pride! Yet another incredible story of animals not acting the way we’re conditioned to believe they do. However, we wonder how long the friendship will last when the antelope is grown, and the lioness is ready for her next meal!

The Fox and Meow

This photo is as mysterious as it is adorable and was taken shoreside of a lake in the country of Turkey. Locals aren’t entirely sure of the story of these two animals, as no one seems to know who owns this cute little cat, but there are some speculations. Most seem to think that the fox lives right near the lake, and the cat lives in a house nearby.

The white cat probably gets let out a few times a day (or runs out on his own,) and comes to hang out with his little red friend. Luckily, someone happened to catch them being buddy-buddy on this particular day. No matter how it came to be, this is one seriously darling friendship!

Momma Monkey

Anna the chimp has a lot more in common with humans than some may think. After all, primates are very close to humans, as far as genetics are concerned. But it isn’t just her genetics that makes Anna so…humanlike, but also her interest in puppies, and the joy that she seems to exhibit whenever she is around them. Anna happens to live alongside of several puppies, among other domesticated animals, at an animal park in England.

From the first moment caretakers saw Anna interact with the puppies, they knew they were witnessing something truly special. In fact, Anna is always around, ready to assist, anytime a new litter of puppies arrives in the park. The chimp’s natural motherly tendencies seem to arise, and she just loves to hold them and protect them, which means keeping them safe from any strangers that may be around at the time.

JoeJoe the Capybara – Internet Star

You may recognize this adorable furry face from oh…anywhere on the internet! Why? Because JoeJoe the Capybara is internet famous, of course! JoeJoe has his own YouTube channel where you can see him hanging around with all kinds of other animals. JoeJoe is very easy going and he gets along with everyone.

The capybara can be seen cuddling with cats and dogs, taking a swim with ducks, or playing with his chickling roommates. Capybara’s are known for being super sweet, so while it’s no surprise that JoeJoe has an abundance of interspecies friendships, we’re still very glad we get to share the moments with him!

Hoo-Hoo, Who’s Got the Remote?

When one imagines animal besties, they probably don’t consider the unlikely bond that may develop between a dog and a bird, such as the case with this dog, Torque, and his owl buddy, Shrek. When Shrek was a baby, he found himself in an unfortunate situation, and rescuers feared that his mother was going to try and eat him, which often happens in those cases. Shrek was taken out of the stressful situation and moved to his new home with his four-legged pal.

The two became fast friends and now, they hardly ever leave each other’s sides. We hear that they can be found most evenings watching Netflix and sharing a bowl of popcorn. Torque is a lucky dog to have such a unique friend!

Fur and Feather Friends

When Andre Cost, a biologist in Brazil, found a baby owl while he was out one day, he knew that he wanted to take it in. However, Cost already had his cat Cleo at home, and he wasn’t exactly sure if the small owl and house cat would get along. But when he brought the owl home, both animals completely surprised him with how well they got along!

The biologist ended up naming the bird Forbi, and nowadays – Forbi and Cleo are always side-by-side, palling around and posing for ridiculously cute photos.

Mama Hound

It may seem strange to hear that a foxhound has nursed foxes – but that’s exactly what “Mama” did.  When four fennec foxes lost their mother and arrived at the LEO Zoological Center in Connecticut, staff members scrambled to find a surrogate to nurse them and keep them alive. Mama ended up seeming like the perfect candidate, so she was sent on a journey across the country, from the Carolina’s to Connecticut.

Mama literally saved the lives of her puppies, keeping them safe, cleaning them and nursing them as needed. Caretakers at the Zoological center were amazed at how well Mama responded to her temporary role. It seemed as though they had made the perfect choice in selecting Mama – hey, her name says it all!

Friends Through it All

These charming little buddies have each been through their fair share of hardships in life. Roo, this two-limbed chihuahua, was left disabled and alone in a ditch, on the side of the road. Luckily, he was rescued and taken to an animal hospital in Duluth, GA. It was at this time that Roo met his new mom, Alicia Williams, who was working as a receptionist at the clinic. When Roo got to his new forever home, he met Penny, the Silkie chicken, who Williams had saved from a lab that tests on animals.

This adorable, yet unlikely animals, formed a strong bond and started to cling to each other for support and friendship. Roo, who happened to be born without two of his legs, even gives Penny rides around the yard. These two just love to play and can often be seen hanging out with one another around Williams’ house. Aww!

Far Apart, But Close by Heart

Pippin the deer had an interesting life when she was a baby. Isobel Springett adopted the young deer into her family, which included Kate, the Great Dane. Kate and Pippin hit it off almost immediately and loved to play and hang out with each other. But Isobel knew that she couldn’t keep Pippin when she grew into an adult deer, so she released her into the forest, not too far from her home.

Kate missed her “deer” friend at first, but Isobel takes her to visit Pippin and her new family in the woods. Pippin still comes to greet her canine friend each time, and the pair will always have a special bond.

Manni the Piglet and Candy the Doggo

Manni, this boar piglet, was rescued from a fate of starvation, in a field in Germany. Members of the kind-hearted Dalhaus family found the hungry little animal and brought him home to care for him. When he got to his new home, Manni was introduced to this Jack Russell Terrier, Candy, and the pair became fast friends. Manni has fully recovered and is now very happy and healthy.

The family is still trying to decide whether or not they should keep him at their home or release him to a wildlife park. We know that they will end up doing whatever is best for the piglet, but we hope he gets to live at home with his friend!

The Lion and the Wiener Dog

Milo the dachshund leads a pretty exciting life, compared to a lot of other dogs around the planet. Why? Well, Milo’s best friend is this five-hundred-pound lion, Bonedigger. Bonedigger was diagnosed with a bone disease that has rendered him disabled when he was a baby, so Milo decided to care for the cub. The little dachshund stayed by his friend’s side throughout the days, and they can always be seen hanging out and laying out side-by-side. But Milo isn’t Bonedigger’s only doggo pal, as the lion has two more canine companions named Angel and Bullet.

We’re so glad that this big kitty has it made, and enjoys a life filled with so many friends! Of course, Bonedigger may sound scary based on his name, but he’s really just a very large, very sweet cat.

This Good Doggo and Her Elephant Friend

Bella the black-lab doesn’t hang out with the typical dog crowd. In fact, she has an unlikely friendship that not many creatures across the Earth can claim. This is because Bella’s best friend is an African Elephant named Bubbles. Bella was introduced to her pal when the man that used to own her brought her along to his contracting job installing a pool at Bubbles’ home in South Carolina, at the Myrtle Beach Safari.

He was having trouble looking after her and keeping up with his job, so he asked the wonderful humans at the Safari to take her in, and of course, they accepted! Bubbles herself ended up at the Safari when she was a young Elephant, rescued soon after her mom and dad were murdered by poachers in Africa. But as unfortunate as the circumstances that brought the two together may be, they couldn’t be happier now, and they’re living their best lives together at the Safari!

Fox and Moose

Meet Juniper, the incredibly cute little rescued red fox. If you ask Juniper, she will probably tell you that this handsome Australian Shepherd, Moose, is her boyfriend. Juniper and Moose’s human mom’s name is Jessika, and she absolutely adores all of her rescues, but she has a special place in her heart for these two. Moose and Juniper do literally everything with each other.

They can often be seen cuddling at nap time, giving each other baths, playing, and even eating their meals together! You may have seen a video of Juniper using Moose’s head as a chair, as she does a lot, but Moose doesn’t care, because he loves his foxy friend!

The Doggo and the Galago

Meet Judy. Judy is a sweet, black dog that spends her days roaming her home at a zoo in Staffordshire, England. Judy used to feel somewhat alone, but that all changed when she met this furry little creature – the bush baby. Bush babies are members of the primate family who, in order to survive, need to be held close to their mother’s bodily warmth constantly. But this bush baby almost didn’t make it, as his mother rejected him after he was born.

Zookeepers panicked as they tried to find an animal that might be able to help the baby stay warm. But then they thought of Judy. Caretakers at the zoo coached Judy and trained her on what she needed to do for the infant Galago. Judy took a liking to her new role, and became not only a foster mom, but a friend to the little bush baby, too.

These Kittens and Their “Momma” Koko

You may have heard a thing or two about Koko the Gorilla before today, as she has become world-famous due to her spectacular sign language abilities. But even though Koko was gaining attention from humans, she craved a connection with other animals, and found herself becoming lonelier ever day she spent alone at her home in Woodside Hill, California.

When Koko found herself turning 44, her caretakers decided to surprise her with something that would change everything for the Gorilla –a litter of adorable kittens! Koko was so happy with her new little fur-balls that she communicated to her caretakers via sign language that they were her babies now.

That Lucky Dog

This gorgeous bear cub found himself making inter-species friendships when he was adopted by a human family in Slovenia, after they saw him wandering around their yard without his mother. But Lucky didn’t just get to meet humans for the first time, he also immediately made a connection with the family’s dog, a German Rottweiler. Even though Lucky was doing great at his new home, as a cub, the family realized that they wouldn’t be able to keep him as he grew into an adult brown bear.

While they discussed options for where they could possibly send Lucky, he ended up vanishing before they made a decision. The family notified the authorities, who thought that Lucky had been stolen. Luckily for Lucky, he was eventually picked up and taken to an orphanage for bears, so that they can care for him properly until he is old enough to return to his home in the wild.

Joey and J’aime

When J’aime arrived in 2017 at the Orphanage for Rhino’s in South Africa, she was unfortunately still too little for caretakers to have placed her with the other, adult rhinos. J’aime spent a couple of months keeping to herself and hanging out with the humans who cared for her before she met Joey, the lamb. Joey was brought to the orphanage after being left by her mother when she was just days old.

Joey took an immediate liking to J’aime, and J’aime seems to love having her lamb friend around, too. This odd but charming couple can now be seen having meals and walking together every day. The orphanage recently brought in another young lamb, Penny, who is now friends with both J’aime and Joey, too!

This Chicken and Her Puppies

Meet Mable. Mable is one very lucky chicken. You see, Mable had an accident in her home, which was outside of her owner’s home. The accident caused her to injure her foot, which in most cases for a chicken, would mean being turned into chicken noodle soup. But Mable’s owner had a soft spot for her, and he decided to bring her in and keep her as a pet.

This was an entirely new experience for the chicken, who not only got to live indoors for the first time in her life, but she also got to meet these puppies. When the doggo’s mom would be preoccupied, Mable would often roost on the puppies, who seemed to absolutely love it. Now, Mable and the puppies cuddle often. Awww!

From Blah to Baa-ah

When Themba, this elephant, arrived at his new home at the Shamwari Rehabilation center, he was just a baby at six months old. Caretakers at the rehab center decided to place Themba in Albert the sheep’s enclosure. Neither of the animals seemed too sure about the arrangement, at first, and Themba even followed Albert around the enclosure intimidatingly.

But when it was feeding time in the morning and the humans arrived, they noticed that something miraculous had happened overnight – Albert and Themba were now inseparable! As it turns out, the elephant and sheep have become the best of friends.

The Neck Connection

Visitors of Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay Florida are lucky enough to spot this unlikely pair together on a regular basis! Wilma the Ostrich and Bea, the Giraffe, have become fast friends at their home in Florida. It isn’t as if these two are friends simply because they live in close quarters – because they really don’t! In fact, the enclosure that these long-neck friends share is over 60 acres.

However, these two can almost always be spotted hanging around together near the water. Some of the animal caretakers at Busch Gardens jokingly speculate that the two have formed a friendship because of their neck-length similarity. Whatever the case may be, we’re glad that they met, because this friendship is just way too cute!

This Orangutan and His Dog Buddy

One day in Myrtle Beach, SC, 2009, Dr. Bhagavan Antle and some other caretakers at the Institute of Greatly Endangered and Rare Species, were out for a walk with Suriya, the orangutan. Dr. Antle noticed that this Blue Tick Hound looked sad and alone as he followed behind them. The Doctor decided to take him back to the institute, where he and Suriya became the best of friends.

And, even though Roscoe doesn’t exactly fit the bill for the kind of animal the institute takes in, he’s now a part of the family, and there is no way Suryia is letting him go! The orangutan and her doggo love being by each other’s sides, and they are always off doing something together.

Lonely but Loved

This beautiful image of this cat and monkey was captures from inside of the Lopburi Monkey Temple in Thailand. The cat was a former stray who wandered around for a year before finding her way into the temple. The kitty and the monkey both share a common story of abandonment, as their owners left them to fend for themselves, which meant condemning them to a life of solitude for over a year, before they were rescued. Now, this cat and monkey couldn’t be any happier. They are the best of friends and share in a (somewhat) symbiotic relationship.

The cat enjoys cuddling with the monkey and staying warm in its arms, and the monkey enjoys picking parasites off of the cat. Okay, we don’t know if he actually enjoys it, but we’re pretty sure that’s what monkeys like to do. Both animals are just happy to have each other, these days!

Let's Nuzzle

This sweet little wild pig was spotted sidling over to this resting baby deer. The little deer seemed to be chilling in the sun, when all of a sudden it was greeted by this little piggy's snout kiss.

It's hard to tell what drew the little hog to this bambi, but by the looks of it, these two have quite the connection.

I'm Trying to Hug You

Outside the house of this 'Ozzie' family, the cameras caught some endearing friendship action when a kangaroo hopped over the fence to greet their dog. The dog, generally would scare off any intruders, seemed quite happy when this bouncy mate came in for a hug.

As you can see, Kangaroo Jack is seemingly trying to hug the dog, and the dog seems pretty excited over his unexpected friend. Looks like they're having some trouble with all those mismatched limps though.

Farm Friends

This aging ram and pig became the best of buds. It all happened when the hog noticed ol' ram was being bullied buy its fellow farm furries. McDuff, the sad old ram drifted away from the herd, living his life in solitude, when all of a sudden the pig noticed him sadly ambling around the fields.

The wild pig approached McDuff the sheep, and the two instantly hit it off.  These days you can spot the two roaming the farm as best friends or cuddling under the sun.

From The Ashes

This Bobcat kitten found the perfect friendship with this 3 day old fawn. The two found each other after the wild fire disaster back in 2009 in Santa Barbara. The event displaced so many animals, forcing many them to roam around and seek new homes.

These two were a little luckier than others. Not only did they find a new home, but they found safety in each other's arms. These two are now the cuddliest of creatures, making their family's hearts melt every time.

Sheldon and Sundae

Sheldon and Sundae found each other on a quaint little Dutch farm. The farm owner, Annette Hagemeijer, who breeds these types of pigs (they're called Kunekune pigs) says she started noticing how her little ginger cat, Sheldon, would always wonder off to visit the pigs. She clearly had her eyes on one pig in particular.

Somewhere in the English countryside, doppelgangers and friends were spotted walking side by side. The Newfoundland dog was walking with what seemed to be his twin brother, a little Shetland pony.

Love is Blind

This little baby doe-eyed kangaroo became besties with this squinty eyed wombat named Peggy. These two became great friends and even shared a pouch at the Wildlife Kilmore Rescue Centre in Victoria, Australia.

Anzac was rushed to the center after a rescue at just 5 months old. A joey should be in the mother's pouch for roughly eight months before it can walk, but Anzac was abandoned a few months before he was to be on his own. Luckily he found his wombat buddy.

The Outsiders

It's not everyday a marmoset and an iguana cross paths, let alone become friends, but being in the zoo, these two were clearly fated to meet. Generally marmosets are incredibly curious creatures, which is why it wasn't surprising when he approached the most unlikely fellow in the zoo, an iguana.

The German zoo is home to these two, where they can be seen giving each other loving pecks on the nose and cheeky little nibbles. Somehow the friendship manages survive throw the sharp claws and scaly skin.

Love and Odour

Despite being sworn enemies in the wild, these two overcame all obstacles against them and became quite the duo. Little lion cub siblings Annabelle and Lester took in the abandoned baby skunk, peanut at just 6 weeks old.

The trio of youngsters joyfully play together at the Animals of Montana, an animal reserve where mountain lions are bred in captivity.

A Lizard and a Cat

Charles, the bearded dragon, and Baby the cat formed the oddest of friendships. Owner Cheyenne March was at first quite worried when she brought Charles the lizard home with her. Her cat, Baby, could have quickly gobbled up the poor thing right away.

Luckily for her (and Charles!), the two got along perfectly and are constantly cuddling up with one another.  One would never think a lizard and a cat could ever be friends!

The Dog and the Duck

Barclay the Golden Retriever met his now best friend Rudy the duck in some odd circumstances. The dog would sneak into Rudy's coop and steal his duck chow. The four year old Pekin duck would scare it away every time.  But slowly, over rather long period of time, the two began to form a strange little friendship. Soon, every time Barclay would visit, Rudy would get excited.

Pam Ishiguro, the owner told Daily Mail “When they are together, somebody is always chasing or jumping on someone else, but when they are apart, they’re always calling for each other.” What a match.

Champy and Morris

Animal lover Jennifer Boyle has always had an affinity for horses and cats. While all of the animals live in harmony, never did she imagine them to become best friends. That was until Champy and Morris met each other.

Jennifer adopted her cat, Morris at about 9 months. Before that he was just living in shelters. Having grown up in shelters, Morris never knew what it was like to have a real home. Everything changed when Jennifer took him home and introduced him to her most prized horse, Champy. The two clicked in an instant.

Friendship to the Rescue

This lucky rescue chicken found in loving home in California. While she was incredibly happy to be saved by a caring family, this chicken wasn't the best around company, especially other animals. The owners had no idea that such a loving friendship would form between these two creatures. Especially considering the fact that this chicken, along with some others they rescued, had been through some tough traumas.

Now their favorite pit bull and their most beloved little chicken have become the closest of pals and the friendship has done wonders for this little chicken.

Roo and Penny

Here's a weird little duo. A two-legged dog and a rare type of chicken called a Silkie. These two are also rescues and were adopted together by a lovely Georgian native named Alicia Williams. This feisty little pooch named Roo found his best friend in Penny, the Silkie chicken. Roo, who is in a wheelchair still has tons of energy to play with is new friend.

Alicia said told her local paper that the pair "love playing and Penny sometimes rides on Roo's back when he scampers outside using a specially made wheelchair." "The first time Roo met Penny Chicken, we placed him in a bed on the floor and she wandered over to check him out." Looks like its been true love ever since.

Woodland Pals

This badger and otter befriended one another in the English animal sanctuary in Somerset. The place that is aptly named, the Secret World Wildlife Rescue, is home to this unlikely friendship between a baby otter and baby badger. The center took in these two young ones around the same time, so naturally they took to each other instantly.

The goal of the rescue sanctuary is to ultimately train these creatures and send them back into the wild.  Since these two were practically raised together it might be a bit tough to part. We hope that no matter what, these two find each other.

A Dog's Best Friend

It's an unlikely match but for centuries now, dogs and horses have always gotten along. These two creatures can love each other dearly, even with the countless differences they have. If you're lucky enough to own a dog and a horse, it's likely that you've witnessed these two at play.

Keep in mind that horses can be quite highly strung, so if you have your dog around, best keep him or her on a leash. You might startle the poor horse!

Cham Chi and Dobee

Cham Chi and Dobee have made quite the name for themselves. These best friends have gone viral on the internet when their owner filmed them playing in the backyard. Cham Chi- a pig, and Dobee - a dog live together in the idyllic village in Kalotaszeg, Transylvania. In the short 50 second clip, you can see the two simply having a ball.

According to the owners, Cham Chi loves giving Dobee massages using his snout and Dobee couldn't be happier. Fun fact, “Cham Chi” is a name meaning “hard worker” in Vietnamese and “munching” in Hungarian.

Study Buddies

University is certainly the place where most life-long friendships are formed. This kitten and a duckling are no exception. Alumni and students have spotted these two on the Tecnologico De Monterrey campus in Monterrey, Mexico, and they are just too cute. They are constantly approached by passersby and admired over their unlikely friendship.

The two can  be spotted hanging outside the campus library, snacking by the pond or even studying for their finals on the grass. Jokes aside, these two are completely inseparable.

Sammy and Patterson

A donkey and a cat. Now that's unusual. On the other hand, both these animals are stubborn and pretty independent, so maybe it makes sense that they would find each other. These furry friends first encountered each other on a county road. Patterson, the donkey was actually left in a field from his previous owner. Sammy the cat spotted him in the distance and led his owner to the donkey's rescue.

Needless to say, Patterson found his family and a new loving home. The two roam around the farmlands and are always snuggling up under trees. Patterson is one super lucky donkey.

Saved by Friendship

Another heartwarming friendship that was formed from a rescue. Wesley, a tall, dark and handsome cow didn't always have it so good. A couple years ago, he ran away from his farm. On his journey for safety, he encountered a Chance the dog. This dog, aptly named, would change his fate completely.

As 'chance' would have it, the dog led Wesley to safety. In the end they were found by rescuers from the Sunrise Sanctuary in Ohio. The two friends were taken in together presently remain closer than ever before.
