The Bachelor, Season 20: Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell
Ben Higgins proposed to Lauren Bushnell at the end of season 20, but not before declaring his love for finalist, JoJo Fletcher. Ben admitted that he had chosen Lauren because he liked her just a little bit more. Wow dude, what a romantic proposal.
The couple tried to make it work; Lauren moved to Denver with Higgins and they were together for a while, even appearing on their own reality show, “Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After?” The couple decided to call off their wedding on November 2016, but remain engaged. Still, they broke it off completely just a few months later.
Now: Chris Soules
Soules went back to farming life in Iowa, keeping busy and working out. And being very active on social media networks, since he is constantly posting selfies. Hey, the guy wasn't quite ready to let go of the fame and fortune of the celeb spotlight, and to be honest, we don't mind looking at selfies of a guy that looks like that. Do you?
Unfortunately, Soules made national headlines after being part of a fatal car crash in his hometown of Iowa. He went to trial for his involvement in the crash, which ended in him pleading guilty in November 2018. After completing his two years of probation, he seems to be doing okay. Soules is currently single, and hopefully, not facing life in prison!
Now: Whitney Bischoff
Whitney remained in the spotlight for a little longer, participating in "Bachelor Nation." In 2016, she appeared with six other former contestants in an improvised parody of the famous show, called “Will You Accept This Rose”.
Bischoff continues to work as a fertility nurse in Chicago. She got married to Ricky Angel in 2017, to which she said, “I am very, very lucky,” she said. “I’ve met a great man and I’m the happiest I’ve ever been." They now have two children. Congrats, girl!
Now: Ben Higgins
Ben continued to live in Denver, working with software companies, participating in reality TV shows, and co-hosting his own podcast with Ashley Iaconetti. He also co-founded Generous Coffee, a coffee company based in Colorado that donates some of its profits to charity organizations.
In talking about his separation from Lauren, Ben said to E! News, "I think mutually Lauren and I saw that life was getting more difficult - I would say the joy that we felt toward our relationship at the beginning was — for some reason — slipping away, and we were both working very hard to bring that joy back. And it just never seemed to get there." The man did find his happy ever after, eventually marrying esthetician Jessica Clarke.
Now: Lauren Bushnell
A former flight attendant for Alaskan Airlines, Lauren recently founded a company that makes rosé wine, and we guess her BA in business management is a big help. She went on to date famous lifestyle blogger, Devin Antin, whom she split up with after a short time.
Bushnell then dated American country music singer, Chris Lane. They had a short spell of separation but have since found their way back to each other and got married in 2019. The two currently live in Nashville, Tenessee with their two children.
