Planet of the Apes
Lisa Marie and Tim Burton may have been one of Hollywood’s weirdest couples, but that was before Burton met Helena Bonham Carter. During the remake of “Planet of the Apes,” in 2001, Burton cast both Marie and Helena Bonham Carter, and that’s when things got complicated.
Helena played Ari, a rebellious ape who falls in love with a human. Burton fell in love with Carter, ending his relationship with Marie to pursue a relationship with her. Carter and Burton entered a long professional and romantic relationship and were together for nearly fifteen years, before ending things in 2014.
Nymphomaniac
Based on the title alone, you can likely guess what "Nymphomaniac" is about. The “adults only” vibe of the film seemed to affect star Shia LaBeouf, who ended his long term relationship with Karolyn Pho for an on-set tryst.
Mia Goth made her film debut on the film, and she and LaBeouf have some pretty heated on-screen moments. The actors decided to take their chances on an off-screen romance, and they began dating while filming. It turns out, it was worth the risk, and the two got married in 2016. The couple divorced in 2018.
Layer Cake
What starts as a scandal, may very well end as a scandal. Back in 2005, Jude Law cheated on his fiance, Sienna Miller, with their nanny. A year earlier, Miller cheated on her fiance Law with '"Layer Cake" co-star, Daniel Craig.
Both of these infidelities would be the death of this pending marriage, and in 2009, they managed to rekindle their relationship. Sadly, in 2011, they broke up again.
Stop-Loss
For nearly ten years, Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe were Hollywood's most beautiful young couple. The rising stars got married and co-starred in the cult classic "Cruel Intentions." They had two kids and a seemingly beautiful marriage until eight years later when things came crumbling down...
The culprit? Co-star, Abbie Cornish. The two met on the set of "Stop-Loss," a drama surrounding a recent veteran who has PTSD. The two had an immediate connection on set, which led to Witherspoon and Phillippe's divorce.
Honey Boy
When Shia LaBeouf wrote the script for "Honey Boy," we're sure he never imagined it would ruin his marriage. The drama based on his childhood and his complicated relationship with his father, the actor plays the character based on his father. FKA Twigs performs Shy Girl, a love interest for the character based on LaBeouf.
While on set, LaBeouf and FKA Twigs found interest in each other, and LaBeouf ended his two-year marriage to Mia Goth. Though they never officially announced their relationship, the two have been spotted together many times.
