Cowboys, horses, blind shooting, and a whole lot of outlaws! Seems like a disaster waiting to happen. If you guys have watched movies like this, the first thing that would probably enter your head are sheriffs, the saloons, and all those men in cowboy hats with really long mustaches. Makes you wonder, did they always look like this?
In all fairness, The Wild West was probably one of the hardest times to be alive, because there would always be a lot of brawls, again bringing up the question, how did people stay safe? Apart from all the fights, there were also some new discoveries and a lot of traveling. Without the wild west, we probably won’t be the same today. Are you curious to find out what they actually looked like back then? Or if they looked as accurate as they do in the movies? Luckily, we have a few photos here that can explain all of that. Read on, and you’ll see what they look like.
So, we’re gonna start off this list with an impressive woman. Do you guys know who this is? This is Goldie Griffith. She was part of the Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show, but based on the photo, she obviously wasn’t there to flaunt herself. She looks like the kind of girl that can knock a guy out with one punch! In fact, that’s what she was known for. Aside from her being a boxer, she was also a professional wrestler and rode broncos, along with other acts.
This woman certainly knows how to work up a crowd. She became a star and even got Married at Madison Square Garden. Do you want to know what else she did that made her so famous? She rode her horse up the steps of Ulysses S. Grant’s tomb in New York City, and was branded as “the gol damdest gal who ever sat leather.” She is one tough gal, she even rode her horse over 3,000 miles from San Francisco to New York. Hard to imagine how the horse might have felt walking for that long. Nevertheless, she still got spunk. You go, girl!
