Björk Wears a Swan Dress
One of the most iconic and cringe-worthy moments of the red carpet was when Björk showed up to the 2001 Academy Awards dressed in a swan dress. Apart from the dress itself, Björk was awkwardly embarrassed when people didn’t seem to get the “artistic” element to her outfit.
She brought along six ostrich eggs with her, dropping them carefully on the red carpet. Other celebs’ bodyguards kept picking them up and handing them back to her, thinking she dropped them by accident.
Nancy O'Dell Embarrasses Taylor Swift
A lot of embarrassing things go down on the red carpet. While interviewing Taylor Swift at the 2015 Grammys, ET's Nancy O'Dell told the singer-songwriter that she would walk away that night with a lot of men.
Swift responded with one heck of a death stare and said, "I'm not going to walk away with any men tonight." The interview lightened up but started pretty awkward, to say the least.
Gary Busey Kisses Jennifer Garner
When actor Gary Busey repeatedly interrupted Ryan Seacrest while interviewing Jennifer Garner and Laura Linney, everyone was a little peeved. But the encounter became truly uncomfortable when Seacrest tried introducing Garner and Busey. Busey responded by kissing the actress's neck.
Garner was obviously stunned and responded to the host's next question with a solid question of her own. "Aren't you going to ask me about getting kissed on the neck on the red carpet by this man? Um, that was nice."
Exes on the Red Carpet
Running to an ex is never a fun experience - especially when paparazzi are photographing you. Model Miranda Kerr looked taken aback when her ex-husband Orlando Blooms arrived on the red carpet next to her.
They were cordial, but everyone could tell the run-in was very awkward for both parties.
Macy Gray Promotes Away
You know things are tough when you're out there using the red carpet for self-promotion. The singer-songwriter showed up the MTV VMAs wearing this, and it's about as awkward as one can get.
Most celebs use the red carpet to show off their looks and glam, not promote an upcoming album. But hey, whatever works?!
